Our commitment to sustainability

The emphasis for SoulStitch Artwear is on the upcycled nature of the materials used, with sustainability at its core. Reused, repurposed and restyled from unwanted and unloved items which would otherwise be sent to landfill along with the other 350,000 tonnes of clothing waste each year from the UK alone and around 92 million tonnes globally. This wastes valuable resources and adds to environmental impact, water pollution, carbon emissions and greenhouse gas emissions.

We source our materials from charity shops, second-hand stores, and online marketplaces. Items are washed with eco-friendly laundry strips and conditioner on eco settings. Energy used to launder, light and sew the clothing is powered by  renewable energy. These clothes are then repaired, restored and recreated.  Once purchased they will be sent to you in compostable packaging. By rescuing, caring for and repurposing unwanted items that would otherwise end up in landfill, we give them a new lease of life and they are reborn as unique pieces of artwear, appealing to the environmentally conscious buyer. At SoulStitch Artwear, we rekindle fabric and spirit.

We believe that fashion can be both beautiful and sustainable. This is circular fashion made  with love and care, creating daily mindfulness through what you wear. Our commitment is to provide you with almost every part of the items rescued and lovingly cared for and transform them into individual and unique mindful artwear and jewellery with intentional creations.  The  wellbeing statements on each garments also encourage mindfulness and express good intentions.  In supporting this store you are contributing towards a more ecologically sound and thoughtful lifestyle.
