About me
I have always been an eco warrior with a wish to live sustainably. Raising two children alone, I was keen on making our own clothing and soft furnishings and have always mended, reused and recycled where possible. We are a non-gas household with solar panels and an air source heat pump and are surrounded by countryside and the natural environment. I draw upon nature as inspiration and love to adorn my artwear with birds, animals and flowers. I like to number each item individually, since they are each a uniquely beautiful art piece, creating conscientiously and mindfully. I was a counsellor/ therapist for many years and appreciate the importance and benefits of mindful living, which is why I enjoy slow stitching , including in the Japanese style of Boro and incorporate this with embroidery and other mediums in my work. This is also where the idea of positive affirmations and wellbeing quotes originated. SoulStitch Artwear stands out from the crowd with a bold and quirky style, always striving to make a positive impact on the world around us. I believe in expressing individuality and embracing a more mindful approach to life.
